That Rugby Girls Barbarians

Frankie joined us for W7s25 and was surprised when Woody announced that one of the U16s trophies was named “That Rugby Girl”.

This got her thinking “What if I could return for W7s26, with a That Rugby Girl side, and win the That Rugby Girl trophy?”.

So Frankie is on a mission to build an U16s Barbarians side to attend W7s26, just head to her social media platforms to find out how you can join her.

The important things to know:-
1 – Every player selected will be given FREE entry to W7s26
2 – Every player gets a FREE rugby shirt to play in, one that you will have a chance to help design
3 – Every player will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult, who will need to purchase a ticket*
4 – Every player will need a letter from their club confirming that they can attend (you don’t need that when you apply, just ask them for permission verbally first).

*Supporters tickets are £20pp and a vehicle pass is £5pv. Optional additional cost, such as glamping, mobile homes and inflatable passes are available.

Roadgas Continue Their Support

Woody is overwhelmed to announce that Roadgas have not only continued their support for W7s but they have increased it due to the growth of the event and the size of the female Match Official team that helps to run the event.

Referee Team Application

Woody knows one thing is certain, he doesn’t know everything. This is why it is important to him to
build a referee team that becomes part of the volunteer group that creates W7s, helps him to provide a fun and safe playing environment and is more than just “the referee that turns up”.

Woody has worked hard to build a team of female referees, not just to make sure that they are given the platform that they deserve but to also inspire the girls on the pitch. The team has gone from 5 women who turned up not fully knowing what was in store for them to a large team who proudly wear the W7s kit because it is as much their event as it is Woody’s.

The referee team has taken on it’s own life over the years, it is now a group of female referees who support each other, socialise together and continues to want to impact the players and each other.

This is why it is important to continually grow the
team, be that with complete newbies looking to
develop themselves or experienced referees
looking to impact the players and their fellow
referees whilst having a fantastic weekend.

W7s26 Entry is Now Live

Due to the amount of interest from sides wishing to attend W7s26 we have taken the decision to hold a ballot entry. This will give everyone a chance to join us for 2026, especially as we have had a waiting list since December 2024.

If you wish to bring an age group or your whole girls section then please complete this form. Woody will draw an entry and add them to the pools. If your entry is drawn, and he can’t fit all of your sides in, then he will draw another entry. He will keep doing that until either the event is full or he has drawn every ballot entry. If there are any spaces left, or if a club can not honour their ballot form, then those not successful will get an email or phone call offering first refusal of the spaces. Any remaining spaces will be then advertised via our social media platforms*



*All successful sides will be required to have an user profile on our website and be able to make payment for the side entry by Sunday 7th September 2025.

Will You Be At W7s26?

We will be doing entry a little bit differently for W7s26 in an effort to be fairer to everyone. W7s24 and W7s25 sold out really quickly, meaning that clubs who wanted to attend either couldn’t or couldn’t come with all of the age groups that they wanted.

With one of our aims being accessibility, we felt that we needed to change our entry process to a balloted one. On Sunday 3rd August you will be able to access the ballot form, which will need to be completed and returned by no later than Sunday 31st August 2025. On the ballot form, you will be asked to confirm how many sides per age group you would like to bring. By completing the form, by no later than Sunday 31st August 2025, you are confirming your commitment to attend W7s26, if selected as part of the ballot.

Woody will draw an entry and add them to the pools. If your entry is drawn, and he can’t fit all of your sides in, then he will draw another entry. He will keep doing that until either the event is full or he has drawn every ballot entry.

Everyone who has entered the ballot will receive an email, by no later than Monday 1st September 2025, to confirm the outcome of the ballot. If successful, you will be given special access to the ticket section of our website. You will have until Sunday 7th September to purchase your side entry tickets, including payment for said tickets via BACS. However, if there are any spaces left, then those not successful will get an email or phone call offering first refusal of the spaces.

W7s and S66 Sportswear Continue Partnership

Woody was introduced to the S66 team when he bought a Mindset Sports rugby shirt to show Matt his support. “I own a lot of rugby shirts, all different sizes and feels but I liked the facts that these were of great quality but felt light and comfortable too” said Woody.
That was during W7s23 and since then Woody has gone from ordering just referees kit to offering some amazing merchandise too. “It is hard to know what quality you are going to get unless you can see it and feel but Tom and his team seem to want to hold themselves to a certain standard, even if it means not always being as cheap as other brands. Trust me, when you have a small budget like we do it can be so easy to go cheaper but what does that say about us as a brand when things don’t look or feel nice or don’t stand up to wear a tare?” said Woody.
W7s26 will see a new set of designs of merchandise from bucket hats, bags and T-Shirts and we can’t wait to share the designs with you.
