W7s Family Raise £1350
Shortly after W7s23 Woody was informed that one of the volunteers had been diagnosed with cancer. Woody has always boasted about rugby being like a family and therefore he was gutted to hear the news, especially as he couldn’t do much to help due to the distance between them. The volunteer blew Woody away by being able to find a way to push forward, even being part of the planning for W7s24 and attending.
Woody took the opportunity to speak with the charity, supporting the volunteer, to ask if he could place their logo on our referees shirts – something the volunteer did not know until Friday evening of W7s24. He then asked the W7s family, those who attended W7s24, to help him show the power of a rugby family by raffling off two referee shirts and they did not let him down.
People bought raffle tickets by bulk and even gave money out of pure kindness, including one of our sponsors RoadGas.
Woody would like to thank again everyone who helped him show love to one of our own.
